Despina has spent the best part of two decades as a clinical naturopath, dedicating most of her career treating individuals with stress and anxiety disorders. It was only recently that she recognised that most of her past consultative practice encompasses the principles of what is now commonly known as lifestyle medicine. That is, setting up lifestyle and behavioural foundations to support the condition she was treating. She has recently adapted her clinical experience to develop workshops supporting young adults in discovering their personal skills set leading towards resilience - her company is called The Madeleine Project.
Despina is also a clinic supervisor at Torrens University and a tutor at Western Sydney University, in the Health Science faculty of each. Her current research is in the teaching and learning of interpersonal skills in the tertiary setting.
